My son better thank Upwork

If you’ve been following along, you know that Upwork has allowed me to do some pretty unbelievable things around the world. Most notably is get a European girl pregnant with my first son :).

As I write this, I just finished purchasing our plane tickets where I’ll be needing to fly my pregnant fiancée here to California from Brussels to celebrate the holidays with our family and then back to Brussels with her and our 40 lb pitbull.

From there we plan on having the baby and spending about 6 months in Brussels until everything is somewhat stabilized.

Then our plan is to fly back the entire party to California around June so we can enjoy family life sur la playa nestled in the heart of the South Bay of Los Angeles.

Fucking Epic.

And for me to even write it makes me wonder how I was able to pull this off.

Only 3 years ago I was staring at hundreds of thousands of dollars in credit card dues and bad bank loans from the two Pita Pit restaurants I owned throughout my twenties, still clinging on to that East Coast dream and old-school mentality.

I thought owning something structural like a restaurant was going to build my little corner of the universe and from there it would be easy street. Boy, was I wrong. I won’t even break out the number of catastrophes that were created by this clamorous concoction.

Anyway, with my future wife’s help, I was able to break away from it all.

I’m now a top-rated freelancer on Upwork and I can work from anywhere I want in the world.

I have the freedom to decide who I work with and what I spend my time doing and that my friends, is epic.
